Whether you sell pills or magic potions, you have to deal with customers who need support, encouragement and handholding.
Handholding is a full time activity in MLM. I grew very tired of the whiners. I swore that the $8.91 cents that I earned from my MLM days would toward a bus ticket to get to my next full time less stressful career.
The obvious choice was to go online and sell digital products. However, the problem with ebooks is that everyone sells them. An ebook that sells for $47.00 today will be available on ebay tomorrow for .99. Another problem is the information and promises of quick income can get you in a lot of trouble. If the information does not create an instant millionaire, the customer send a nasty email to and calls you a huckster or says bad things about your loved one.
In order to stay abreast of the latest Internet Marketing schemes, you have to subscribe to hundreds of email list. Everyday some self-made guru sends you a seasoned email about the next great white hope program. But you don’t receive just one email about this great program, you get the same email announcing the same program from every guru whose list you have ever subscribed to.
I have grown very tired of the new launches of total junk in the Internet Marketing world. If I see the same face on another testimonial I will donate that face to science without the approval of that Internet Guru. Maybe it is just me but I find the process of the testimonial section of the WebPages a little disingenuous.
To play the Internet marketing game is getting a little expensive. Not many people are willing to plunk down $997.00 for an ebook in order to earn $1,000 per month. Another problem is the massive amount of information that has be provided in order to justify the price. There are no cliff notes in IM.
My children rail at the cost of college textbooks that will prepare them for a dull career. If one of their books costs over $100.00 they think of staging a walk out.
But with Google Adsense, the relationship is with just you, Google, and the online web surfer who clicks on your little ads and goes merrily on their way. The web surfer is an innocuous entity that you will never know who they are. You will never have to issue a refund or receive a scathing email about the failure of your product to produce millions of dollars for them overnight.
It is the anonymity of the Google Adsense program that makes it so appealing. Once you follow the rules and guidelines, you enter a totally democratic rarified society that has no color, ethnic or language barriers.
I was more than impressed with John Reese’s little report about his experiment where he explains how he earned $546,000 in one year with a network of niche websites. I calculated his expenditure and the number of websites required to conduct my own little part time experiment.
